Key Qualification
Mr. Charles Adjei Acquah holds a Master of Science in Health Economics from the Chulalongkorn University Bangkok, Thailand, and has fifteen years of professional experience in public health, human resource of health planning, applied research, program development and management related to Human Resource of Health (HRH), reproductive health, HIV/AIDS and resource mobilization. For the past five years, he has focused specifically on resource mobilization, applied health economics research, adolescent sexual reproductive health and HIV/AIDs. Mr. Acquah was until June 2004 the program manager responsible for implementing the Youth Friendly Services (YFS) component of the African Youth Alliance (AYA) Ghana project in ten(10) health facilities associated with Christian Health Association of Ghana (an association of mission health facilities in Ghana). AYA is an innovative five-year partnership between UNFPA, PATH and Pathfinder International being implemented in four African countries- Ghana, Uganda, Tanzania and Botswana. From October 2004 to March 2005, Mr. Acquah was a Consultant working for Pathfinder International in the evaluation process of the YFS component of the AYA project. Currently, he is the Executive Director of Golden Life View and the National Chairman of Ghana Coalition of NGOs in the Health Sector. Besides his working experience in local and international non-governmental organizations, he was a senior management level employee of Ghana Education Service and the Ministry of Health respectively, and has worked in the areas of capacity building, epidemiology and control of diseases such as Malaria, Yellow Fever and other mosquito borne diseases, HIV, Family Planning, Community Based Distribution, Human Resource of Health Planning, Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) planning & budgeting, Applied Health Care Research and Evaluation. He carries years of experience in program design, community and overall project management, policy analysis and implementation and capacity building. His research interest are in the areas of epidemiology, health care costing, HR efficiency and utilization studies, economic analysis and evaluation of health care and youth friendly services. Mr Acquah is a team player and computer literate.
